Sony halts Android 7.0 Nougat rollout for Xperia Z5, Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet? (Confirmed)
UPDATE: Sony confirmed that it pulled the Android 7.0 Nougat update for all its Xperia devices after discovering some audio-related issues and problems with SD card encrypted data read performance: Here is the company's official statement:
We were made aware of reports from some users experiencing inconsistencies related to audio playback via third-party apps and SD card encrypted data read performance, after upgrading to Android 7.0, Nougat. We’ve identified the root cause and are aiming to provide corrective firmware and re-commence the rollout as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, Sony might have pulled the update from their servers and halted the deployment of Android 7.0 Nougat altogether. The information hasn't been confirmed yet, but many Xperia users claim the Nougat update is not available anymore for either of the Xperia Z5 models.
In addition, Sony may have also stopped the rollout of the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3+ Dual and Xperia Z4 Tablet.
If the update was indeed pulled from Sony's servers, then the rollout has stopped globally. We can safely assume that this is just a temporary setback, though it's hard to tell how long it will take until the Sony will resume the rollout of the update.
Hopefully, any issues that Sony might have found and forced it to put the rollout of the update on hold, will be fixed sooner rather than later.
